How to start something you've never done before.

Hey! How are you doing this quarantine time entrepreneur? This is Fernanda R. from Mexico, and I’m an Ambassador in TrepHub Queretaro.

For around 5 weeks now, I´ve been trying and preparing myself to become a community manager rockstar for the company I work for. This is something I have zero experience in but always wanted to try because even though I´m still not too good at design and marketing, it’s something I really like, and I’m curious about how marketers and designers get their creativity to develop amazing things, just with a computer and a few hours.

So, here is for you “Tips on How to start something you've never done before.”, from my actual experience:

To begin with, why do you want to start?

It is really important to identify your “why”, because this is the whole point of you starting to try something new, and getting into the “no experience” path to later become great at it. This is your motivation and your fuel to keep learning.

1. Investigate: Nowadays in this "Internet Era", you can find tons of information related to what you want to start learning, catch an article and get to it!

2. Get inspired: Look for other´s work or documented experience in order to get inspiration for what you can do. One thing that is important is never to compare yourself, you are unique and your work is just your style (and that´s great).

3. Learn and talk with experts: Experts are your new friends within this learning path, learn from their mistakes and better-practices.

4. Ask for feedback: Related to experts, they can show you how to do get better each time. Don´t take feedback personal, they are willing to help you (really).

5. Polish your talent: Get into online courses, blogs, webinars, or any digital materials you can use to hone your skills. Take a 5-minute break to think about what can be improved.

6. Schedule: Schedule or mind map your learning lessons. Keep yourself organized and never get lost in your whole world of notes.

7. Maintain a clean space: Self-explained.

8. Get some snacks: Eating keeps your brain awake (and it´s delicious).

9. YouTube, your new friend: YouTube tutorials are your new tools to learn anything (ANYTHING) and solve your doubts visually.

I really hope you find this helpful!. Now it is your turn to start!

Bye, bye! Thank you for reading me,
