Meet CBA, inspiring and empowering women through activewear.

Hello everyone! My name is Paulina Muñoz from Guadalajara. I participated in TrepCamp 2018 in San Diego. I’m 24 years old and I became an entrepreneur creating an activewear brand for women.

I finished my marketing degree and I wasn’t sure about what to do with my life. Since I started university I knew I wanted to have my own company, one that I felt passionate about. Exercise has always been important to me, sometimes just for fun or to feel better about myself, so I knew I wanted to do something about fitness. After 6 months of many doubts, I made the decision to start my own activewear company.

2 years ago at TrepCamp, I learned from the best entrepreneurs that gave me important skills to begin this journey. Such as research, trends, needs in the market, competition, creating a business model, and focusing on solving a problem and not only in creating a product.

I wanted to create a brand that could inspire and empower women to feel good about themselves, loving their bodies just the way they are. Taking care of the quality and functionality of the clothes and fabrics with a design that could allow women to wear it during the day and also make it streetwear at a reasonable price. Showing it through simple and fun branding.

I stared all by myself, it was a challenge given that I had no idea about fashion, fabrics, processes, but I tried to do it as best as I could and talked to people who could help me do it the best way possible.

I started CBA in February 2020 with 3 colors of leggings and not much money to invest, step by step I’ve been able to increase the number of products and make them better. One of the most important things is to have a good team by your side and after some time of going crazy by myself, I now have the pleasure to have a great team by my side.

After some hard times and a lot of learning, we are now shipping all around Mexico, with distributors in 10 cities. We are still learning and trying to be better each day, thinking about what’s coming next and the goals we want to achieve.

The most satisfying thing about this journey is the community we’ve become and the incredible people I’ve met and been able to work with.

My Advice to you is don’t be afraid to start something you really believe in, ask for help when it’s necessary, set your goals, and never stop learning! Problems will always show up, be resilient, and focus on finding solutions.
